About the Foundation

The Foundation for Healthcare Leaders of New York was established in 2020 to create sustainable funding for healthcare leadership development through scholarships and educational opportunities. With support from Healthcare Leaders of New York and our major donors, over 50 scholarships have been awarded to promising healthcare leaders.

The Foundation exists solely through the generous contributions of healthcare leaders, industry partners, and dedicated professionals committed to excellence in healthcare leadership.

Our scholarships provide crucial support to promising healthcare leaders who might otherwise lack access to the resources, education, and networking opportunities necessary to advance in their careers.

The Foundation for Healthcare Leaders of New York is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

FAQs

  • The Foundation for Healthcare Leaders of New York is a separate 501(c)(3) organization with independent governance that works collaboratively with Healthcare Leaders of New York (HLNY). While HLNY focuses on professional membership activities and events, the Foundation specifically manages scholarships and leadership development initiatives with separate funding and board oversight.

  • The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of distinguished healthcare executives who bring extensive leadership experience from major health systems, academic medical centers, and healthcare organizations throughout New York. The Board provides strategic direction, financial oversight, and ensures proper stewardship of donor contributions.

  • This Board operates on a voluntary basis, with all members contributing their time and expertise without compensation. Participation is driven by a commitment to the mission and values of the organization, and members offer their services in a purely volunteer capacity. The Foundation allocates approximately 85% of all funds directly to scholarship programs. The remaining funds cover essential operational expenses such as accounting, donor recognition, insurance, and minimal administrative costs. Our focus is maximizing the impact of every dollar donated.
